Harry Styles scores number one as debut solo album shoots to the top of charts

Harry Styles has shot straight to the top of the charts with his debut solo album.

The One Direction star’s self-titled record has landed the number one spot having sold 57,000 copies since its release last Friday.

According to the Official Charts Company, Styles even sold more on vinyl than Paul Weller’s new offering, A Kind Revolution.

The 23-year-old is the second One Direction member to land at Number one solo album, following Zayn’s Mind Of Mine in April 2016.

Ed Sheeran’s Divide holds on steady to the number two spot this week, while Rag’n’Bone Man’s Human is at number three.

Other new releases to make an impact on this week’s chart include Paramore’s fifth collection After Laughter, which is at number four and Paul Weller’s 13th solo album A Kind Revolution, which has landed at number five. 

Over in the singles charts, Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber have clung onto the top spot with Despacito, celebrating their second week at number one.

Bieber is also in at number two with DJ Khalid’s I’m The One, featuring Quavo and Chance the Rapper.

Miley Cyrus’ comeback track Malibu has debuted at 11 while Charlie Puth’s Attention is up four to Number 12.

Styles has been over in the US promoting his debut solo offering this week, finishing a week-long residency on the Late Late Show with an epic Carpool Karaoke.
